Even if you do not follow tennis, this is one of the great victories in sports. If I can find some of the actual match on video I will post it. If you know where to find video footage, especially the tie breaker and the ten minutes after she wins. I hope you can watch it. Incredibly uplifting.

Swedish Handwork Tools, Thanks to Curtis Steiner

A friend gave us a box of old traditional handwork tools that she found on a trip to Sweden. We took them to Curtis Steiner to see if he could figure out a creative way to display them. BANGKOK (AFP) – Scientists have discovered more than 1,000 species in Southeast Asia’s Greater Mekong region in the past decade, including a spider as big as a dinner plate, the World Wildlife Fund said Monday.

“It doesn’t get any better than this,” Stuart Chapman, director of WWF’s Greater Mekong Programme, was quoted as saying in a statement by the group.

“We thought discoveries of this scale were confined to the history books.”

Too good not to mention – Daschle bitten by my wife’s family’s 3-legged dog

When Tom Daschle was in Congress, he lived down the street from my wife’s parents, who had a very nice 3-legged dog named Jemmy Button. As far as my father-in-law can remember the only person Jemmy ever bit was Tom Daschle. According to my father-in-law, Tom was very understanding, very decent in fact, and took the whole thing in stride.

“Daschle is on the health care advisory group of Obama’s transition team and said he plans to write the health care plan that Obama will submit to Congress next year.”

I am becoming more familiar with the serious impact that various manmade chemicals are having on our children’s endocrine system. In addition, I am increasingly amazed that these chemicals are unregulated. How is this possible?

But the good news is that you can go to the cosmetic safety database below and check out most products. The search engine searches the manufacturer’s own data sheets. It does not list the additional chemicals that they exclude because they claim trade secrets.

Check it out with you and your spouse’s lotions, creams, soaps, and make-up and then enter your son’s and daughter’s products.

“I’d contracted to fly to Fazenda Santa Sophia with a bush pilot I didn’t know. It was already getting dark when I met him, and we sprinted to his car to drive to the airstrip. We could smell his car from 50 feet (15 meters): A jerry can of gas had tipped over in the trunk, and gallons of fuel were sloshing around in it. He laughed, righted the can, and we flung ourselves into the car and roared away, he sluicing around every corner on two wheels, me hanging out the window, gasping for air.”
