Obama Radio Address 11-14-08

In my opinion, Obama should have been co-representative for the US at the Summit on Financial Markets and the World Economy this weekend. Here is Obama’s radio broadcast from Friday, with his message for Americans and summit goers from around the globe.

I think that Obama was correct in not going. And he sent Madeline Albright to “listen” for him. This mess is really complicated and until he can get his team firmly at the controls it is better to look over their shoulders and nudge the outgoing team in better directions. His radio address was interesting in that regard – he asked for “down payment” on a stimulus package and then defined it as extending unemployment benefits for 1 million people. He is 100% correct on this and I hope the WH and congress do this.
