Seattle Commons – Status as of December 12, 1993

Click here to read a December, 1993 Seattle Times article summarizing the status of the Seattle Commons up to that point.

The Commons: Now The Real Work Begins

Huge, indeed: If built as planned, the entire Commons project would embrace nearly one-fourth of all the property in the very heart of Seattle – that land west of Interstate 5 between the Kingdome and Queen Anne Hill. The core of the plan – its central park – would be surrounded by mid- and low-rise housing, retail businesses to serve the residents, and various commercial ventures for a total of 18,000 new residents and 21,000 new jobs over the next 30 years.
